[NL] MunichChronotype Questionnaire

People arrange their daily lives differently according to their “chronotype,” i.e., when they go to bed and wake up. Our research tries to find the biological mechanisms behind the phenomenon of different chronotypes.

This page asks for your personal information. Information about your age, gender, etc., is essential for our analysis. Place should only be precise enough for us to be able to establish the latitude and time zone. Finally, we ask your name and email to be able to contact you in case we wish to collect information from your extended family.

Please be assured that all items of your personal information will be handled with utmost confidentiality. Personal Data (age, name, address) will be separated from the rest of the questionnaire, so that upon submission, all subsequent processing will be done on anonymous datasets. In case a particular dataset is found to be of interest to us, we will look up the name of the respondent by an index that is automatically assigned to each submitted questionnaire.

(If you are a shiftworker, we have a special edition of MCTQ for you).

Self-assessment

After you have answered the preceding questions, you should have a feeling of the chronotype you belong to. If, for example, you like (and manage) to sleep quite a bit longer on free days than on workdays, or if you cannot get out of bed on Monday mornings, even without a Sunday-night party, then you are more likely a late type. If, however, you regularly wake up and feel fresh right from the moment you jump out of bed, and if you would go to bed early rather than to an evening concert, then you are more an early type. In the following questions, please characterize yourself and your family members in terms of early/late types.
